Lights in the world : 2nd Strategic Objective
October 14, 2009
God's endless love to you in the name of Jesus Christ. The second strategic objective of Living Tree Academy, is to find individuals that see the vision of being a "light in the world" for a lifetime. Those that have been blessed by God's deliverance and desire to shine as lights in every country and culture. When I worked for FedEx, many times I flew throughout the United States in the cockpit of FedEx aircraft. Upon the approach of a destination city, (in the darkness of night) the entire cockpit crew would begin a visual search for the local airport beacon light. Once identified, this beacon (light) would guide the plane through the lights of the city into the safe haven of the municipal airport. Each airport beacon has a specific color. From the beacons color, the crew can determine the type of airport upon approach. e.g, military, manned, unmanned. Throughout history maritime travel has benefited from lighthouses along the shore as well. These lighthouses have been important aids to navigation. Before the invention of modern navigation instruments, sailors depended on lighthouses to warn them of rocky shores or shallow water. The Chesapeake Bay has many shallow areas that are dangerous to ships, and yet the Bay has been a heavily traveled waterway since colonial times. The construction of a system of lighthouses to aid navigation on the Bay was an important development in the history of the Bay area. In daylight or during fog or storms, the light may not be easily seen. Therefore, each lighthouse has two other unique characteristics that help to identify it. Its exterior markings or colors can be easily seen during daylight. Its foghorn sounds a signal that is different from the signals of all other lighthouses. The markings and fog signals are also described on the navigation charts. With charts that show the location of the lighthouses and the depth of the water in each location, an experienced sailor can navigate even without modern instruments. This network of lighthouses literally saves the lives and cargo of many people and ships. In a similar fashion, God has set each individual believers in the Body of Christ as a lights in this world. (Philippians 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;) These Godly lighthouses are individuals that believe the Word of God and hold forth the truth contained therein. They shine to the multitudes throughout the world and bring the message of deliverance of Jesus Christ. Each individual helps guide a seeking person along the "Way" (Jesus Christ) in search of truth. Each person (lighthouse for God) projects light and has a distinct form and sound. They work in conjunction (together) to guide individuals into the harbour of God's love. Just like the stars in heaven shine brightly to guide the maritime traveler through the vast oceans, born again believers shine as the stars in heaven. The literal translation for Philippians 2:15 & 2:16a is: in order that you may be faultless and unadulterated as the blameless sons of God who are dwelling in a crooked and perverted age; yet you shine as bright stars in the universe as you hold forth the Word of Life, Living Tree Academy is seeking people that have a desire to work along with the LTA board of directors to train young people how to walk with the God of Light.
